About Us

Hero Banner

Tekt is an Australian modular building company creating efficient, scalable, design-led homes and tourism accommodation. Backed by James Energies and its sixty-year legacy of delivering complex modular infrastructure for Australia's energy sector, Tekt combines proven manufacturing discipline with architectural thinking.

Our streamlined process follows DfMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) principles to reduce risk and waste, deliver consistency and speed without inflating costs. From urban homes to eco-resorts and government accommodation, our modular systems are engineered for Australian climates and built to adapt, relocate, or be responsibly disassembled as needs change. Integrity drives everything we do. We say what we'll do, do it properly, and take responsibility for how construction impacts people and the environment.

Meet the Team

Led by Founder Alex Miscamble, Tekt's highly collaborative team brings deep experience across design, construction delivery, manufacturing, engineering, and procurement. In partnership with architecture firm Knight Office, we work with a shared vision to deliver thoughtful design that stands the test of time.

General Manager

Alex Miscamble

Alex Miscamble founded Tekt to close the gap between modular construction's potential and the quality being delivered—applying industrial discipline, systems thinking, and design integrity to buildings shaped around how people actually use space.

Initially trained as a carpenter, Alex developed a strong understanding of how buildings come together at the most fundamental level. A subsequent pivot to a Facilities Manager role at a property development business saw Alex managing complex assets and contractors, and honing an ability to balance operational delivery with long-term performance.

Alex then spent several years running operations on a large commercial cattle property—managing people, plant, and logistics across a high-risk remote environment. During that time, Alex taught himself to weld to solve practical problems in remote conditions, which deepened his understanding of fabrication and structural thinking.

In his next role as a boilermaker, Alex developed an appreciation for precision, repeatability, and industrial-grade standards. This unique combination of hands-on trade skills and operational leadership is the foundation on which Tekt is built.
